Planetary temperature controls CO2 levels — not humans

Blockbuster: Planetary temperature controls CO2 levels — not humans

Judging by the speech gave at the Sydney Institute, there’s a blockbuster paper coming soon.

Professor Murry Salby is Chair of Climate Science at Macquarie University. He’s been a visiting professorships at Paris, Stockholm, Jerusalem, and Kyoto, and he’s spent time at the Bureau of Meterology in Australia.Over the last two years he has been looking at C12 and C13 ratios and CO2 levels around the world, and has come to the conclusion that man-made emissions have only a small effect on global CO2 levels. It’s not just that man-made emissions don’t control the climate, they don’t even control global CO2 levels. (MORE)

There has never been a theory that has been so accepted by so many scientists and for which there is so little scientific evidence for and so much scientific evidence against.

It reminds me of a neighbour I had who decided to remove their upstairs fireplace (against my explicit advice). I think they asked to borrow some tools because I popped around and when I saw what they had done, I immediately went outside and the chimney had a visible tilt as they had simply removed all its support on one side, meaning nothing was holding it up except a few flimsy 4 inch ceiling  joists. Putting a ladder up beside the chimney, the whole massive 6foot x 6foot x 2foot block rocked too a fro at the slightest touch.

As far as I could tell, there was nothing keeping that chimney of more than a tonne of bricks from crashing through the roof splintering beams and killing anyone who was stupid enough to still be in the house. But still my neighbour was unconcerned and talked about getting  a friend in to look at it later.

I didn’t wait, I simply called the fire brigade and told them it was an emergency.

The doomsday manmade warming “theory” is like that chimney. Everything tells us that it ought to come crashing down creating havoc as it falls, but there are nut cases who really still believe it is sound.  It may still sit there but surely, by now, it is ready to fall. How long can it last?

I always wondered what could give the CO2 emission a seasonal wave, peaking in April and dipping in October. And if there was something natural that produced a bigger swing than the annual rise, couldn’t it also create some of the rise. Very interesting work.

Of course, the climate community can’t accept this paper but maybe it will spur enough decision makers to put the brakes on and say ‘hang on guys, we really do need that debate now’.

  2. The problem is government. Government’s refuse to lose face by admiting they are wrong – they would rather spend vast amounts of our money maintaining the facade. I would make the comparison with Edinburgh’s trams – there was never a business case for it even at the orifinal price of £$350 million; when they staterd it was up to £600 million on “fixed price contract” but they were committed. Now they have spent about £500 m of that and fot nothing but, to save face have decided to make it £750 million for a short token tramline. This will almost certainly come out at £1,000 million for a line that will serve no purpose whatsoever except to allow councillors to say they succeeded.

In the same way, having spent several trillion on this scam and deliberately thrown the developed world into recession they will rather spend many trillion more rather than admit what lying thieving parasites they are.

    • You should also mention the Scotland parliament. Another project which was highly politicised and massively over budget (and again where clear lies were told to the public — remember the “consultation” occurred after the design had been chosen!!!)

      • Misleading of parliament used to be illegal in the democratic west (when was democratic).’’ Doctrine of separation of power’’ between BBC and a political party is clinically dead. Same with OZ ABC… Thanks to the Sceptic’s Smarties… Because their proof is: 98 was the hottest year! How do they know? IPCC told them…?!
98 was the warmest for two reasons: reason 1] 98 was the year following Kyoto Conference = to scare the crap out of the public. Reason 2] in 99, when the prudent leading Warmist realized that is going to be a long road to brainwash everybody… if they increased the temperature every year as from 97 to 98 = the planet will boil until they create enough Zombies – therefore, they lowered the temperature for the following years. In the process they created enough water pistols for the Skeptics – to fight the Propagandist.
For IPCC the temperature is monitored on 6000 places. If you take the temperature 5m above every individual place, will be different. Therefore, it’s monitored on about 50 000m3. How many cubic meters of atmosphere is on the planet…? 2] Oceania is 10 times bigger than Europe +USA – is it 10 times more monitoring places in Oceania? Isn’t Oceania on the same planet /globe? What was the temperature 234m above East Anglia university on 14 of may last year, at 7AM; what about at 1PM, was it same all day? What was the temperature 123km NE of Fiji on that same day and time? No, no, no, on 57m altitude. How can one compare the temperature for many different years; when nobody knows the temperature for the last year. There is million man hours wasted, to created thousands of charts. In which the makers somehow know that one year was warmer by 0,2 degrees…?!?!?! By monitoring only on 6000 places, inaccuracy would be plus / minus 7⁰C. 3] the laws of physics say: when is more pollutants CO2 /H2O in the upper atmosphere = on the ground day temperature is lower, nights milder. Less pollutants, hotter days – colder nights. Why is not monitored on every meter altitude to the stratosphere; isn’t that part of the same globe. Temperature changes every 15minutes…
Verdict: all those charts should be printed on soft paper, to have some positive use.
